Introduced in stride with the Venice Beach neighborhood’s popular ‘First Fridays,’ Solé Bicycles opened its doors to 500 select tastemakers at the grand opening event for the brand’s new So Cal showroom. The indoor/outdoor party greeted guests on arrival with hand painted bicycles (per Chad Muska and Mar) and a busy hosted bar. Inside, the showroom welcomed a pro line-up of DJ talent including Hot Mouth (Jon Peganto formerly the LARiots), Jam3s K3n3ddy and Bag Raiders, playing to the wall-to-wall crowd. Check out the above video of the night’s scenery.
A one-stop-online-shop for inexpensive fixies, Solé Bicycles was started by two best college friends from USC, Jonathan Shriftman and Jake Medwell, who became infatuated by fixies. “We couldn’t figure out why these simple, elegant bikes were typically so expensive – so we spanned the globe in hopes of creating and selling a supremely designed, well built, simple, affordable bike.“ Solé has been featured on the likes of Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine and named Inc. Magazine’s America’s Coolest College Start-Up in 2011. The bikes retail for $349 and are available in 14 different stylish color ways over at www.solebicycles.com.
