Guided by the personal direction of team rider, Mark Appleyard, Globe introduces it’s latest pro model shoe for Spring 2013. A low top vulcanized footwear design, the shoe features casual styling, as well as technical skateboard performance with the brand’s polyurethane “shockbed” insole. Offered in three unique colorways, The Mahalo comes in both a shaved suede/canvas combination and two super clean canvas options. Dropping in February of this year, The Mahalo will be available at retail accounts and online at globe.tv.
Globe stacks a new series of plastic cruiser skateboards to it’s lineup with the allover-print Graphic Bantam ST. A scaled down version of the original, the ST is the smaller, lighter successor to the full size injection molded Bantam. Featuring a swallowtail design, the mini-me complete dawns Globe’s S-Trac griptape, as well as the brand’s custom 59mm wheels and 3.5″ trucks. The synonymous collective of both Globe’s snowboard team and co-owners at YES. Snowboards – RDM, DCP and JPS (Romain De Marchi, David Carrier Porcheron and JP Solberg) have brought the fore-mentioned brands together on a collaborative boot and cruiserboard release for Winter 2013. Featuring the hiker styled Globe x YES. Apres Boot – waterproof and abrasion resistant, the boot dawns a full grain black leather upper with rubber laminated Vibram Sole and spring loaded lace clasping system. In addition, the release also includes a co-branded 7-ply maple skateboard (32″ x 8.25″), designed with custom deck/wheel art, painted trucks and understated snowboard inspired griptape with faux bindign holes pre-die-cut. In anticipation of the brand’s latest apparel collection, slated to drop Spring 2013, Globe pulls back the curtain for an early preview, with the release of it’s new GoodStock Chino and Jean range. Delivering casual and semi-casual options, the line sheds light on the quality and styling that can be expected from next year’s full apparel launch. The GoodStock Jean ($50 USD) comes in a slim fit, five-pocket and zip-fly design, constructed from right hand twill weave stretch denim and genuine leather branding. Available in blue black, camel, vineyard, field green, foliage and brick red. Likewise the GoodStock Chino ($55 USD) employs a similar five-pocket design, made from 100% cotton stretch twill, offered in stone, rust and navy colorways. Stocked at American Rag, amrag.com and a handful of select retailers, both chinos and jeans hit store shelves mid-September.
Following up on Globe’s well received middle eastern surf film, ELECTRIC BLUE HEAVEN, featured surfer Dion Agius and best friend/filmmaker Beren Hall leak a cutting room edit aptly titled POOL SCRAPS. Sans the orignal’s yellow Lamborghini and arid desert B-roll, the video features unseen Agius airs, even more sprawling Russian models and a never ending lineup of the world’s finest man made waves. Shot on location at the Al Ain Surf Park, 90 miles southwest of Dubai’s city center, the video runs just over 4 minutes with soundtrack by Gil Scott-Heron. Supporting the brand’s vintage inspired Year 0000 Collection, surf outfitter Globe introduces it’s first hi-cut oxford design through the Year Zero Boot. Pieced together from contrasting brown leather patchwork, complete with custom forged “Year Zero” rivets, the boot combines it’s premium upper with a stepped heel, black leather outsole. Tucked away amongst wild desert mountain ranges, surfer Dion Agius converges on the world’s best man made wave, unleashing a gamut of aerial rideaways to an excited audience of Russian models. Featuring the Al Ain Surf Park, 90 miles southwest of Dubai’s city center, the 6:51 conceptual film depicts Dion’s journey to an unknown surfing oasis of empty waves, tantalizing bikinis and electric blue water, all contrasted against dramatic mountain backdrops.
