This news comes just one week after Element Skateboards surprised the crowd at Mr. Smalls Theater in Pittsburgh, PA with the unveiling of Evan Smith’s pro model graphic moments after debuting its video project “The Evan Smith Experience.” DC Shoes will be continuing The Evan Smith Experience with its unique color way of the Council S, a shoe design from which proceeds will go towards Evan’s music and art non-profit organization Creative Life Support (CLS). Celebrating the release of Eric Koston’s second signature pro model, Nike SB debuts the final edit of both shoe and skater’s The Legend Grows commercial. Relating the silhouette’s technical features to Koston’s illustrious career into skateboard lore, the video follows the story of a kickflip backside tailslide to hurricane grind, as the narrative grows from one Nike athlete to the next. Previewed on Scoutwell back in December, Warren Smith & Nick Lavecchia debut their latest creative project to the public, opening their FIX THE SHADOWS show in the maritime district of Portland, Maine. Setting out the capture the daily happenings and Northeastern exploits of Warren, Nick and invited friends, the show features collective photographs taken over 3-months time, including local surf, community, nature and more friends. Converting a waterfront loft space into an impromptu gallery, the show features 30 framed photos and countless numbers of loose prints hung on clothes lines around the space. Presented by Insight, RAEN and Monster Children, additional shows are scheduled to hit Los Angeles and Australia later this year – with 100% of proceeds being donated to waterforwaves.org for Sandy Relief.
